Commissions

Working closely with architects, engineers, town planners and users of new or refurbished buildings and sites. Each project is carefully researched and considers community and historical context, making each commission an individual response to place.

My work continues to develop concepts set out in my practice-led PhD, which examined the underlying principals of Gombrich’s statement:

“Architecture must be the test for any theory concerned with the decoration of manmade structures, for it is here that fruitful tension between functional and ornamental hierarchies can be studied on any number of levels.” (E.H.Gombrich, The Sense of Order)
