Creswell Crags Museum and Visitor Centre

Strata – illuminated pattern on glass, completed 2009

A desk and wall panel feature at the new-build museum and visitor centre at Creswell Crags in Derbyshire. The design is inspired by the physical location of the museum built into the side of the Creswell valley. Contour lines correspond to both the topology of the site and the linearity of the ice age art in the nearby caves. The commission was created using fluorescent inks fired onto glass and includes LED lighting to illuminate the design at night.
