Gloucester Docks
A glass balustrade at Shipton Square, Gloucester Docks.
The design for the balustrade takes into account the strong orthogonal and industrial identity of both the new and refurbished architecture. The interlocking grid pattern of blues, rusty gold, yellow and etched glass reflects the details of the surrounding warehouses and water.
The pattern was created digitally and fabricated by a traditional silk-screening process using permanent ceramic inks and acid etching.
